Hopefully, I don't make grammatical errors. If I do, get over it... I'm human!

Christmas comes early

I went home this weekend to visit my family. I hadn't seen my grandpa in a while, so I wanted to see him before work gets really hectic. My mom surprised my by taking me to a furniture store to pick out recliners for our Christmas presents. They were having a buy one get one free sale, and mom wanted to buy us something we wanted. That way we don't use the money (they usually give us cash) to pay bills. I'm really glad that we will have comfy chairs to replace the ones that are older than I am. The current chairs are hand-me-downs from my parents, and Troy's is broken. He leans it against the wall to keep from falling over.

On a lower note...

Work is really getting busy. We are going to be in direct contact with the TE writers for our own level, so we have to answer questions about things that haven't even been decided yet. I hate feeling unprepared and unorganized, but there isn't much I can do about it. The TE sample looks much better than what we had last year. However, the scopes and sequences, that we need to give the writers to fill in most of it, have not been approved yet. I am also waiting on 3 of the 6 reading selections for my 1st unit, and do not have an approved Read Aloud. So much is undecided, that I am freaking out. :(

Miss Praticality won out

Miss Spontaneous is not happy! :(
I decided to hold off on buying a new car. We are going to fix up the Camaro to use as a back up car. There are bills that need to be paid off before we take on more debt. Also, we really need to replace the roof. So... we are going to do that before buying a new car.

I'm actually fine with it. Living in a dream world of wanting new things is great, until the stress of unpaid bills wakes you up. I stress myself out enough that I don't want to add to it by not having enough money to pay yet another bill.

Oh well! I'll just add the car to the list of wants.

To buy or not to buy...

Okay, so we currently only have one car that is reliable. The Camaro could be fixed, but it guzzles gas and isn't any good on snow or ice. I want to buy a new Honda Fit, but...

there are many things keeping me from buying a car:
1) Our dept is substantial and we probably shouldn't take on another payment right now.
2) There are several things we would like to do to the house (ie: remodel the bathrooms and kitchen, and replace the roof).
3) The Civic is still running, and has been doing the job.
4) We have lived without a 2nd car for over a year.
5) A trade in of the Camaro would be the only way we could put 10% down.

There are also reasons to buy the car:
1) We would have a new car that will run great.
2) It gets excellent gas mileage and would save money on gas.
3) We would have 2 cars in good condition, so we wouldn't have to scramble for rides or pay for cabs if we were going in different directions.
4) The Fit would allow us to haul bigger items, so we wouldn't have to pay for shipping when we fix up the house.

I don't know what to do. I guess I'll have to wait and see how things work out.
